Switching Up My Mental

The Recovering Pessimist: Switching Up My Mental -- When goals that I've established don't work out as expected, I had to figure out what's the problem. When I realized that the steps I was using weren't the problem, I realized that I needed to switch up my mental approach. | www.therecoveringpessimist.me #amwriting #recoveringpessimist #optimisticpessimistThroughout this year, I’ve been working on several goals. I’ve accomplished some of my goals. However, I’m not making the progress that I want to make on other goals. It’s frustrating to say the least.

So I had a moment with myself to figure out where things were going wrong. My mental approach to these goals was all wrong. And because it was all wrong, I couldn’t make the progress that I wanted to make.

For example, I would tell myself the following:

I want a new job.

I want to travel to ____________.

I want more money.

I switched my mindset to the following:

I’m getting a new job.

I’m traveling to ____________.

I’m getting more money.

Turning those wants into manifestations just might get me closer to accomplishing all of my goals. It’s worth a try. Can’t keep doing the same things expecting different results. Besides, the worst that can happen is that I get the same results. But I won’t know that if I didn’t try something new to begin with.

If you find yourself hitting a wall with something you’re trying to do, try changing your mindset. Sometimes, that’s all that’s needed to get things back in action.

Be good to yourself,

MsWalton

My Thoughts on Fear

Nov

FEARWith the end of the year fast approaching, I figured that I better work on my goals for 2015. When I reviewed the goals I made for this year, I realized that a lot of them weren’t accomplished.

Why?

Fear.

I’m a planner. It’s difficult for me to step out on faith, not knowing the result. That’s why I’m stuck where I am. For me to make these goals happen, I must focus on completing the tasks, versus worrying about the result.

Worrying about the results is irrelevant if you don’t put in the work. Fear will cripple you IF you allow it to do so. Success requires that you fight your way out of the box that fear puts you in.

Are you ready to fight?

No More Tomorrows!

There are 29 days left in this year.

TWENTY-NINE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To make matters worse, I know I didn’t take advantage of every day. I was a firm believer in “I’ll do it tomorrow”. Well, tomorrow came and tomorrow left just as fast.

Success doesn’t come by sitting on my assets giggles. What I can do is make the most of each day that I’m fortunate to see. There are a lot of goals that I want to accomplish and I have to put in the work get them accomplished.

So, I got proactive during my Thanksgiving break. In order for me to get serious about being successful, I need to get organized. Take it back to my college days.

I brought a book-sized daily/weekly planner. One central location for me to keep track of blog posts, writing contest ideas, etc. Since the planner starts in January, I printed off a blank December calendar so I can get things started.

There are already four posts planned and tentatively scheduled for December. Yay me! I’m determined to make the best of the 29 days left in the year. No more tomorrows for me!
