Comfort in Gestures

When I’m going through something, I don’t necessarily want people to help me in the verbal sense. To me, the fewer people involved the better.

There’s a downside to that. You isolate yourself when you internalize your issues. It gets lonely and that’s worse than the issue itself. I find myself wanting people around, but I don’t want  to hear them.

In other words, I want silent reassurance that someone is there for me while I’m going through the chaos. Hugs and pats on the back can so much without saying anything.

That’s all that matters.
