The Complexities of Life

Don’t Tiptoe Around Feelings

The Recovering Pessimist: Don't Tiptoe Around Feelings. -- Time is too short to tiptoe around people's feelings. | www.therecoveringpessimist.me #amwriting #recoveringpessimist #optimisticpessimistSay what you mean & mean what you say.

It’s one of my favorite mantras for various reasons, the main one being that it feels good emotionally and physically to get things off your chest. Speaking for myself, when I hold things in, I become ridden with anxiety. My chest tightens, my stomach aches, and all my focus is on whatever I’m holding in.

In addition, I’ve noticed that people tend to hold things in because they don’t want to hurt someone’s feelings. I understand why they do it. It hurts to hurt someone’s feelings. You believe you’re helping someone when in actuality, you’re hurting them and yourself.

It’s that simple.

Really, it is.

No seriously, it’s really that simple.

Try it one time and let me know how it went. If anything, your mind, body, and spirit will thank you for it.
